The Maine man arrested last month for robberies in Tyre was due in court yesterday. 40-year-old Ronald Poore did not show up for his court appearance.
Poore was arrested for robbing a woman who had just taken $200 out of an ATM, trying to rob a man saying he would slit his throat, and robbing a business saying he had a gun. When he was arrested police say he was driving a vehicle stolen in Monroe County.
Under New York’s no-bail law, Poore was released from custody.
Wednesday in Tyre Town Court, Judge Kathleen Jans-Duffy issued a bench warrant if Poore doesn’t contact the court by Friday evening.
Seneca County Sheriff Timothy Thompson wrote an open letter to Seneca County residents and said this “case bolsters the argument for the public safety discretion for arraignment purposes.”
