The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating Ron E. Poore, age 40, of 734 Marston Road, Gardiner, Maine. Poore failed to appear in the Tyre Town Court as required on the charges of Robbery in the Third Degree (two counts), Attempted Robbery in the Third Degree, and two counts of Petit Larceny. There is currently a Bench Warrant issued out of the Tyre Town Court.

The charges stem from three separate incidents in March of 2024 where Poore allegedly robbed a female victim by force, robbed a convenience store by threatening the use of a firearm, and attempted to rob a male victim by force and the threat of physical harm. Poore was taken into custody following these three incidents and arraigned in the Seneca County Centralized Arraignment Court. Poore was subsequently released on his own recognizance due to the New York State bail reform laws and was scheduled to return to the Tyre Town Court on April 10, 2024.

Poore has ties to the State of Maine, but has been frequenting Monroe County and Seneca County. If you see him, please contact law enforcement immediately. To contact the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, please call 315-539-9241 and speak with the on-duty Road Patrol Supervisor.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the community not to take any action to detain Poore as he is to be considered potentially armed and dangerous. Sheriff Thompson added, “We want people to be safe and we ask you to contact law enforcement authorities to apprehend Mr. Poore. It is not worth putting yourself and others in harm’s way. We do not have any credible information to believe that he is in the area, but it is our goal to keep the community informed.”
