Geneva Man Arrested for Burglarizing Same Business Twice

SHARE NOW

A Geneva man has been arrested after allegedly burglarizing a business he had previously broken into in April.

According to Geneva Police, officers responded to a reported burglary at a Castle Street business at around 10:30 Monday night. It was determined that a man forced his way into the business and attempted to steal the cash register, causing over $2,000 in damage in the process.

The business had to close on Tuesday due to the damage.

Police were able to identify Miguel Marin-Torres, a convicted felon, as a person of interest. Before interviewing him, the 38-year-old Geneva man was found to be in possession of a controlled substance.

Marin-Torres was arrested on a felony burglary charge and taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment. Additional charges are pending.

In April, Marin-Torres was arrested for burglarizing the same business.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
