Five people were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital after the car they were in collided with a horse.
It happened at around 5:20 Monday morning on Alderman Road in the town of Macedon. Evelin Lazo-Rivera was driving south when she struck a horse that ran out in front of her. The impact sent Lazo-Rivera into the oncoming lane, where she struck a parked car whose driver had stopped to warn her of the horse.
Police say Lazo-Rivera and her four passengers were taken to Rochester by ambulances for their injuries.
The status of the horse was not disclosed by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were assisted with the investigation by the South Macedon and Macedon Center fire departments, along with Western Wayne, Macedon Town, and Finger Lakes ambulances.
