A woman was hospitialized over the weekend after being involved in a crash on Ridge Road in the town of Wolcott.
A preliminary investigation determined Kathryn Smith swerved into the opposite lane before her car left the road, went down an embankment and overturned, coming to rest on its passenger side. Smith was extricated by members of the Red Creek and Wolcott fire departments before being taken to Upstate Medical for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, their investigation found that Smith’s failure to keep right contributed to the crash, leading to the car leaving the road and overturning.
Deputies were also assisted on scene by the Wayne County Ambulance and the Lake Shore Ambulance.
