The date has been changed for a public forum aimed at tackling the opioid crisis in Seneca County.
The forum has been moved to October 8th after a scheduling conflict with open houses at local schools. The Seneca County Opioid Overdose Prevention Task Force is inviting the community to take part in the forum from 2:30 to 4:30 PM at the Seneca Falls Recreation Center.
The forum seeks to gather input from residents about their personal and professional experiences with opioid use and addiction. This feedback will help ensure that funds from the opioid settlement are used effectively to address the crisis.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
2:30 Welcome & Overview – Director of Public Health Scott King
2:40 Overview of the Nation’s Opioid Epidemic – Resident Agent in Charge (RAC) William Reichard, DEA Rochester
3:00 What the Opioid Epidemic Looks Like in Seneca County – Sheriff Tim Thompson
3:10 Mental Health Resources & Supports – Director of Community Services Margaret Morse
3:25 Coalitions’ Prevention Role – Coalition Project Director Karen Burcroff
3:30 Public Forum
4:15 Next steps & Wrap Up
