Just days after the arrest of Geneva Police Officer Michael Tapscott for allegedly selling a prescription form of Adderall while on duty, Police Chief Ron Eveland has confirmed that two additional members of the department have been placed on administrative leave.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a criminal investigation involving the two officers. It remains unclear whether this new investigation is connected to the case involving Tapscott, an 11-year veteran of the department, who resigned following his Wednesday arrest.
Chief Eveland called the allegations against Tapscott “deeply unsettling” and reaffirmed that the Geneva Police Department is cooperating fully with the Sheriff’s Office. He also noted that the department will be conducting its own internal administrative investigation, as required by policy.
