The case of a woman who went missing from Wayne County over 30 years ago is now being classified as a homicide.

Wayne County Acting District Attorney Christine Callanan confirmed during a Friday press conference that remains found years ago belonged to Judith Geurin. The remains were found by hunters in October 2020 on Garner Road in Huron.

Geurin was around 45 years old in 1991 when she vanished, leaving behind all her belongings, never to be seen again.

Investigators with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office are asking anyone who may have information regarding the case to contact them. The office can be reached at 315-946-9711. Additionally, tips can be made online.
