Registration is open for a hybrid workshop on forest management.
Cornell Cooperative Extensions of Cayuga, Schuyler, and Seneca Counties are hosting the Managing Your Forest Workshop to help landowners learn how to manage their forested lands best.
The workshop will feature a portable sawmill demonstration and educational programming on stewardship plans, best management practices for small parcels of land, and forestry-related programs.
“Managing Your Forest” is intended to help landowners learn about resources to help them actively manage their forested lands. “Many people have small forests and they want to use them for hiking, hunting, maple syrup or timber income” said Ryan Staychock, CCE Seneca Environmental Educator. “This workshop will inspire people to manage their forests, especially at a time when NY Forests are under attack from invasive species and over browsed by white-tailed deer.”
The event can either be attended via Zoom or in person at Vince’s Park in Seneca Falls. Those attending in person will meet at 5:30p while those using Zoom will receive a meeting link prior to the event.
The workshop will take place on September 11 with registration due by September 10. More information including how to register can be found here. The cost to attend is $9.00 per person.
