An upcoming fundraiser will help the Village of Union Springs get a new scoreboard for its baseball field.

Doug’s Fish Fry to Go will be at the Union Springs Fire Department from 11:00a-6:00p on Saturday, May 31. Orders can be made in person; orders can also be placed over the phone until 4:00p by calling 607-753-9184 ext2.

The village has said that all funds raised from the event will go to replacing the aging scoreboard at Frontenac Park.

The Union Springs Lions Club has also been raising money to replace the approximately 30-year-old scoreboard. Their efforts began in February and seek to raise $18,000 for the replacement.

Upgrades to Frontenac Park were announced as part of the slate of projects given funding through the Downtown Revitalization Initiative funding awarded jointly to the Villages of Cayuga, Union Springs, and Aurora. Planned improvements include new pathways, creating a recreation office and community gathering space, creating a new patio, and adding a new picnic shelter.
