As part of National Travel and Tourism Week, Tour Cayuga will hold a State of Tourism address and luncheon to highlight tourism updates for Cayuga County and New York State.

Kari Terwilliger is the Executive Director of the Cayuga County Department of Planning & Economic Development. She told Finger Lakes News Radio that state leadership, consultants, and local experts will convene at the Emerson Park Pavilion on Wednesday, May 7, for talks and a panel discussion on tourism in the state as a whole and Cayuga County in particular. She added that groups taking part in the panel discussion include the Industrial Development Agency, Chamber of Commerce, Planning Department, and the tourism board.

“We’re hoping to have a very meaningful conversation with our partners in tourism, members of our tourism destinations throughout the county, and we’ve even invited partners from other counties to come join us to have a conversation about the state of tourism in Cayuga County and beyond.”

The event, which will also serve as a 30th anniversary celebration for Tour Cayuga, is open to the public, Terwilliger continued.

“We’re inviting anyone who wants to come and learn more about tourism in Cayuga County and how they fit into that or how they can partner with us going forward to come, or even just to have a terrific lunch in a beautiful setting and learn more about tourism in Cayuga County.”

Registration for the event is required and can be done here.
