You have less than a week left to vote for an Auburn beer festival as one of the best in the nation.

Brave Brews has been nominated for USA Today’s 10 Best Beer Festivals list which highlights events from across the country. The event, now in its third year, celebrates women and non-binary individuals in the craft beverage industry through three days of celebrations and special events.

Courtney Kasper is the Visitor Experience Manager at the Equal Rights Heritage Center which helps administer the event. She previously spoke with  Finger Lakes News Radio where she said Auburn’s festival brings a unique blend of history, culture, and brewing to the table.

“There’s not quite [another festival] that’s as unique as tying together our history but also the culture that we have here, the really strong agriculture we have here with the beer industry. So, we think that we have a very unique product and we’re very proud of it,” said Kasper.

This year sees a date change for the March festival. typically beginning on the first Friday of the month, this year the event will run from March 8-10 to coincide with International Women’s Day (March 8) and Harriet Tubman Day (March 10).

Also new for this year, the festival is part of Brave Women Week taking place throughout the Fingerlakes region. Running from March 3-10, the event sees events, activities, and special sales at locations in Cayuga, Cortland, Monroe, Onondaga, Ontario, and Seneca Counties.

The Brave Brews Festival is presented by the City of Auburn in collaboration with multiple entities including the city’s Historic & Cultural Sites Commission and the Equal Rights Heritage Center.

Voting ends Monday at noon. You can vote for Brave Brews here. Voting can be done once per day.
