The United Way of Cayuga County’s Night at the Syracuse Crunch may not be until March but tickets are now available.
Julisa Stone with the nonprofit explained to Finger Lakes News Radio how the event’s fundraising aspect works.
“For every ticket sold, a portion of the proceeds comes back to the United Way of Cayuga County,” said Stone. “Last year, we sold 119 tickets so our goal this year is to sell at least 120, and if we reach that 100-ticket threshold, we’ll get $100 back from every ticket sold.”
The Syracuse Crunch will face off against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Stone added that the game was purposefully chosen for their fundraiser night because their coach, JD Forrest, is an Auburn native.
After a trial run in 2019, United Way decided to make it an annual event in 2022.
Tickets for the March 22 game can be purchased here.
