Days before he was set to go on trial, a Syracuse man has pled guilty to attempted rape.
Cayuga County District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced that 36-year-old Jason Williams of Syracuse admitted to his crime on Thursday. His trial was set to begin on Monday.
Williams was arrested and charged last July after an investigation by the Auburn Police Department and its GIVE Unit uncovered that Williams sexually assaulted a woman while she was asleep.
Williams faces five years in prison, followed by 15 years post-release supervision when sentenced, something expected to take place on August 14.
