Rep. Mannion Joins Push to Impeach DHS Secretary Noem

SHARE NOW

One area congressman is calling for the head of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to be impeached.

Congressman John Mannion announced he is cosponsoring a resolution to impeach DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, writing on Facebook that she “has demonstrated time and again an inability to uphold her oath and to lead the Department of Homeland Security lawfully and with integrity.”

The resolution, introduced by Congresswoman Robin Kelly of Illinois, calls for Noem’s impeachment for allegedly violating the law by not allowing members of Congress to visit DHS facilities, denying Americans their constitutional rights at the hands of ICE, and using her position for personal gain while inappropriately using taxpayer dollars.

The move comes amid nationwide protests against Noem and actions taken by ICE.

The full resolution can be read here.
