Registration is open for the latest edition of the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Cayuga Classes.
Started in 1989, Leadership Cayuga is a program offered by the chamber that seeks to engage with community members, especially those new to the community, and inform them about the various goings on within the county. Speaking on FLX Morning, Amy Fuller, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, said the program is a great opportunity for those new to the area or taking on new leadership roles.
“They talk about government. They talk about board governance. They talk about the different opportunities that are within our county… so if you’re new to the community or new to your position somewhere and you just want to get a better feel about what’s around here, it’s a great program to be a part of.”
Classes begin in September with meetings once a month for nine months. They’re headed by Education Coordinator Jessica Wrench.
Fuller added that discounts for the program are available for chamber members and those who register before August 8.
Those seeking more information on Leadership Cayuga or those who would like to register for the program should visit the chamber’s website or call the chamber at 315-252-7291 and ask to speak to Wrench.
