Registration is open for the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce’s annual State of the Schools address.
Auburn Enlarged City School District Superintendent Dr Misty Slavic, Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES Superintendent Dr Brian Hartwell, and Cayuga Community College President Dr Brian Durant will provide updates on how their respective institutions fared in 2024 as well as their plans for 2025 and beyond.
Jessica Wrench is the chamber’s education and resource coordinator. She told Finger Lakes News Radio that the event, created to complement the chamber’s State of the City & County Address, allows everyone in the community to learn more about what’s happening at these educational organizations.
“If you are a community leader, it’s imperative that you know what’s happening in our schools, whether or not you have children in them, so obviously parents, grandparents, anyone who’s interested from that way, but just as a leader too, knowing what’s happening in our education system; it’s a great way to find out and get a pulse on that.”
The virtual event will run from 10:00a-11:30a on Monday, April 21. Registration for the event can be done on the chamber’s website.
