It looks like paid parking will return to downtown Auburn.
City Clerk Chuck Mason was on FLX Morning where said, as the city’s budget stands, metered parking will make a comeback.
Under the proposed budget, parking fees would return to Auburn, beginning October 1st.
Free parking was established in May of 2021 to increase downtown business during COVID; however, some business owners have complained about cars parking in front of their stores beyond the two hour limit.
The proposed budget will be voted on June 1st.
