The Cayuga County Office for the Aging, in partnership with the New York State Office for the Aging, is launching a new transportation option for residents age 60 and older.
The program, called GoGo Grandparent, connects seniors to ride share drivers such as Uber and local taxi services to provide both on-demand and scheduled rides—no smartphone or app required.
GoGo is designed to supplement existing transportation options like the SCAT Van, the Veterans Van, and Medicaid Transport, not replace them. A limited number of free rides are available to those who register through the Cayuga County Office for the Aging.
Priority will be given to out-of-town medical appointments, though other types of trips may also be approved depending on available funding. There is no financial eligibility requirement, and companions may ride at no extra cost.
Seniors interested in signing up for the program should call the Office for the Aging at 315-253-1226.
