A new exhibit coming to the Cayuga Museum of History & Art in Auburn will take a look at local experiences 200 years ago.
The third and final rotating exhibit of 2025, 1825: Realizing America, will explore what Auburn looked like in 1825 and what major events of that year meant for the country. 1825 saw many significant events; the 1824 presidential election marked the end of the Era of Good Feelings, the Erie Canal was completed, and General Lafayette toured the United States.
Realizing America will replace the current exhibit on the Korean War, which is ending on Saturday. The new exhibit will premiere on September 20, coinciding with a Music of Freedom program in the Carriage House Theatre from 1:00-3:00p. It will remain up until the museum closes for the season on January 3.
