Free summer music lessons are returning to Cayuga County.
The Auburn Music Boosters are bringing back their summer music lesson program for students in grades 4-12.
Project Manager Andrea Birbilis says they’ve received so many applications, they’re asking the public for help finding instruments.
“So if we’ve got people in the Auburn area that may have an instrument sitting in their attic or basement or something their child took out but is no longer playing, and they’d like to donate it to us, that’d be great,” Birbilis told Finger Lakes News Radio.
Birbilis adds that over 120 students from across the county will be participating this summer, something she says will benefit them in a variety of ways.
“Anytime a child plays an instrument it exercises so many different parts of their brain, and it’s a great way to make new friends and do something a little different. We’re hoping to make some great musical progress this summer.”
If you’d like to donate an instrument, you can contact Auburn Music Boosters at 315-253-9407.
