Police say officers were investigating a two-car crash at the intersection of North and Seymour Streets around 6:51a. There were no injuries reported from this accident and both vehicles were off the roadway.

Just after 7:00a, while police were still at the scene, the second accident occurred. According to authorities, the juvenile was walking east on the southern sidewalk of Seymour Street. While crossing North Street, they were hit by an SUV that was travelling north on North Street.

The pedestrian was taken to the Syracuse hospital via ambulance as a precaution due to head trauma. At the time of reporting, police did not know the child’s condition but they added the juvenile is expected to make a full recovery.

The driver was taken to Auburn Hospital for an evaluation with no injuries being reported at this time.

The intersection was closed for roughly three hours while police investigated.
