Auburn firefighters made quick work of a Tuesday fire at the Cayuga County Office Building.
According to the department, an alarm was activated at 2:21p after multiple smoke detectors were activated on the fifth and sixth floors of the building.
Due to work on the building following its closure, crews were unable to use the elevator and had to take the stairs.
Upon gaining entry to the roof, a small fire was found on the front facade and quickly extinguished.
The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental and related to the roof being replaced.
