Police say they have a person in custody who caused an incredible amount of damage to his car and several others in downtown Auburn over the weekend.
The Citizen reports the driver of a BMW sped away following an incident at a South Street bar Saturday night, drove down Genesee Street at a high rate of speed, and lost control of his vehicle while rounding a curve on East Genesee, in him crashing into parked cars. One of the vehicles that were struck, a Chevy Silverado, was flipped onto the sidewalk, and another vehicle, a Subaru Legacy received rear tire and significant driver’s side damage and the BMW was found abandoned in the street.
The driver was captured after initially fleeing the scene and was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
