Dickens Christmas returns to Skaneateles for its 30th year this month.
The annual event sees actors play the parts of Charles Dickens, Queen Victoria, Washington Irving, and others as the village’s downtown is transformed into a winter wonderland with the actors interacting with each other and passersby alike.
Auburn is also getting in on the action. A radio play version of A Christmas Story will be put on at Auburn Public Theater. Members of the cast will also march in the city’s holiday parade on November 25.
Other special events include musical performances, a snowman-building contest, and horse and carriage rides.
Dickens Christmas in Skaneateles kicks off on November 24th and concludes on Christmas Eve. Performances will take place Saturday and Sunday from 12:00-4:00p with a limited show from 12:00-2:30p on Christmas Eve.
