The Cortland County man who defrauded two Cayuga County couples will spend the next 2-4 years behind bars.
The Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office has announced that Michael Young of Preble was sentenced on Tuesday by Judge Jon Budelmann.
In June, Young pled guilty to defrauding the couples out of nearly $19,000 between May and August of last year when, after completing a different job for a Town of Locke couple, he took roughly $12,000 for additional work he never completed. He also took $7,000 from a Summerhill couple for work he had no intention of doing.
Aside from the prison sentence, Young was ordered to pay full restitution.
