A Colorado man has pleaded guilty to transmitting threats in interstate commerce to injure another person.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Northern District of New York, Jerry Gordon admitted to sending four threatening text messages from April 22 to April 25, 2025, to a man in Aurora. In the messages, Gordon warned the victim to “get his affairs in order” and threatened to “drink your blood from the chalice that I will make out of your heart.”

Federal agents arrested Gordon on April 25, 2025, as he arrived in Syracuse, after traveling from Colorado, following the identification of the threats.

Acting U.S. Attorney John A. Sarcone III said, “Vile threats to kill the citizens of our district will not be tolerated. Local, state and federal agents…quickly responded to the impending threat and apprehended the defendant.”

FBI Special Agent in Charge Craig L. Tremaroli added, “This case demonstrates the FBI’s unwavering commitment…to swiftly investigate, intercept, and bring to justice anyone who threatens our citizens.”

Gordon is scheduled for sentencing on November 24, 2025, before U.S. District Judge Elizabeth C. Coombe. He faces up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and up to three years of supervised release.
