As solar development becomes more popular in Cayuga County, Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Farm Bureau will hold a seminar on solar projects on agricultural land.
The Solar & Ag in Cayuga County: What You Need to Know seminar will be held from 9:30a-2:30p on Wednesday, November 13 at Cayuga Community College’s Auburn Campus. Speaking on FLX Morning with Ted Baker, CCE Environment/Natural Resources Educator Ryan Staychock said the event is designed for those thinking about leasing land.
“It’s designed for farmers and landowners to gain information on important issues regarding solar development on agricultural lands, especially things that people need to know if they’re going to lease their land to solar companies.”
Registration is required and costs $15. Staychock added that space is limited so those wishing to attend should register as soon as possible. Registration can be done on CCE’s website.
Staychock added that while held in Cayuga County, the seminar will provide useful information for those in neighboring counties as well.
