With Spring just around the corner, the Cayuga County Soil and Water Conservation District is once again taking orders for its annual Spring Tree and Shrub Seedling Sale.
The district says the plants and shrubs can be used to prevent erosion, promote wildlife, and create noise and visual buffers. Orders will be accepted now through April 30 and can be picked up on May 10. The district adds that supplies are limited.
The district has also begun taking orders for its annual fish stocking sale.
Available fish include largemouth bass, yellow perch, bluegill, black crappie, and minnows. Grass carp are also available; however, a special permit from the New York State DEC is required to purchase them.
The deadline to order the fish is May 14 with pickup taking place at 11:00a on May 20 at the district.
To receive an order form or brochure for either the plants or fish, you can call the district at 315-252-4711 or email [email protected]. You can also order online at cayugaswcd.org.
