A man who told the court he sold cocaine to support his cannabis habit has been sentenced to more than ten years in prison.

Reynaldo Ratcliffe-Sierra, of Auburn, received a ten-and-a-half-year sentence Tuesday from Judge Jon Budelmann in Cayuga County Court. A twice-convicted felon, the 29-year old was arrested in June after an investigation by the Finger Lakes Drug Task Force in Auburn.

Ratcliffe-Sierra had previously pleaded guilty on August 12th. As alleged in the indictment, Ratcliffe-Sierra admitted to possessing more than four ounces of cocaine with the intent to sell it in the City of Auburn on June 11th. Law enforcement discovered the cocaine while executing a search warrant on Ratcliffe-Sierra and the hotel room where he was staying. Ratcliffe-Sierra also forfeited $5,354 recovered during the search warrant.

Ratcliffe-Sierra was previously convicted of Assault in 2021. This prior violent felony conviction resulted in an enhanced sentence for Ratcliffe-Sierra
