With 2025 underway, Cayuga County continues to track suspected overdoses.
According to county data, six overdoses occurred within the county in January, none of which were fatal. Two are believed to have involved opioids and Narcan was administered. Five of the six suspected overdoses occurred within the City of Auburn.
Overdoses have been declining in Cayuga County, with 2024 being the third straight year of decline after reporting only 136 overdoses, a 17% decrease from 2023.
