Cayuga County youth will soon have a chance to enhance their animal photography skills.
Registration is open for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County’s upcoming Livestock Photography Workshop.
The class will be led by 4-H volunteer Deb Cuming, who will go over the specific requirements of livestock photography, such as proper exposure and composition. Youth will then have the chance to practice what they’ve learned on goats and sheep.
Photos taken during the workshop can be submitted to the county fair and considered for the state fair.
Youth do not need to be 4-H members to attend.
Attendees are advised to dress properly for handling animals, including sturdy, closed-toe shoes. They will also need to bring their own cameras. Digital, film, and phone cameras can all be used.
The class will run from 6:00-7:30p on Wednesday, June 18, at the Botsford Family Farm, 3955 NY 34, Scipio. Registration can be done here.
