Cayuga County Arts Organizations Receive State Funding from NYSCA

The New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) has awarded more than 2,400 grants to nonprofit arts and culture organizations and individual artists throughout the state, totalling over $63 million, including several in Cayuga County.

Auburn Public Theater, the Cayuga Museum of History & Art, and Merry-Go-Round Playhouse Inc. have each received funding through the NYSCA Support for Organizations grant program. Auburn Public Theater and the Cayuga Museum each received $49,500, while Merry-Go-Round Playhouse received $25,000.

Auburn Public Theater also received $137,196 for its regrants program to support the arts in Cayuga, Ontario, Seneca, Wayne, and Yates Counties by funding smaller projects.

Just outside the county, in Skaneateles, the Skaneateles Festival Inc. received a $49,500 Support for Organizations grant.

NYSCA aims to foster and advance the state’s arts, culture, and creativity.
