A special talk and book signing later this month will cover the history of Auburn’s ever-changing landscape and buildings.
Author Joe Divietro will be at the Cayuga Museum Downtown to discuss his new book, Auburn Past & Present. Geoff Starks with the museum:
The book showcases the transformation of Auburn’s landscape and buildings as the city went from a frontier town to an urban center and then to a post-industrial city. Speaking with Finger Lakes News Radio, Director of Development and Outreach, Geoff Starks, said the talk will also discuss what buildings have and haven’t survived the march of time.
“A lot of people who live here know urban renewal caused a lot of change in Auburn, said Starks So, [this talk is] kind of taking a look at what that after effect has been, looking at the places that have been well preserved and a lot of places that haven’t.”
The talk will begin at 6:00p on Wednesday, June 26. Following the talk, there will be a book signing.
Books can be purchased at the museum.
