Auburn residents will have a chance this weekend to declutter their homes.
The city will hold its second Fall Cleanup Day of 2025 on Saturday from 7:00-11:30a at its transfer station, located at 311 North Division St.
Residents are able to dispose of a variety of waste items without the need for station permits; however, attendees will need to provide a driver’s license and vehicle registration with matching addresses to prove city residency. Additionally, trailers, box vans, and U-Hauls are not allowed. The city adds that rules will be strictly enforced at the event.
The following materials will be accepted at the station for free: garbage, recycling, mattresses/box springs, brush/yard waste, and furniture. computer parts, microwaves, DVDs, VCRs, printers, TVs, cell phones, mobile devices, fluorescent lamps, and car tires (with a limit of 4 tires per residence). Yard waste will need to be removed from plastic bags.
Materials containing freon, such as refrigerators, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers, will be accepted for a fee of $45 per unit.
Household hazardous waste, asbestos, motor oil, liquid waste, grease, solvents, paint, and cooking oil will not be accepted.
