The Auburn man who tried to burn down a downtown apartment building last year is going to prison.
The Citizen reports that 48-year-old Isiah Finch was sentenced to five years in prison for attempted arson and menacing a police officer.
On July 3, 2022, he attempted to burn down his 55 Market Street apartment after a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, resulting in him choking and slashing her in the leg with a knife. When officers tried to stop him, he swung a knife at them.
He was eventually taken into custody and no officers were injured.
Following the prison sentence, Finch will face five years of post-release supervision.
