An Auburn man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for two separate robberies.
Cayuga County District Attorney announced that 24-year-old Sadiq Bonner-Judge was sentenced to 15 years in prison, followed by five years post-release supervision by Judge Thomas Leone on Thursday. He was sentenced to 7.5 years for the count of Attempted Robbery in the First Degree and 7.5 years for one count of Robbery in the Second Degree, both violent felonies, with the sentences running consecutively.
Bonner-Judge’s attempted robbery charge was for an incident where he forcibly stole property while displaying what appeared to be a firearm. The robbery charge was for a separate incident involving a different victim, where he stole money and caused injury to said victim.
Bonner-Judge pled guilty to both charges in 2022; however, he failed to appear on the date of sentencing, leading to a bench warrant being issued. He evaded law enforcement for over 37 months.
Bonner-Judge had originally pled guilty with a promised sentence of five years in prison plus five years post-release supervision for each count to run concurrently. Due to his failure to appear for sentencing or cooperate with the probation department, the DA said the court imposed the enhanced sentence.
Chief Assistant DA Chris Valdina prosecuted the case, while sentencing was handled by DA Grome Antonacci.
