Auburn Community Hospital will end its water quality precautions implemented in March after elevated levels of legionella were found in water samples.
On March 22nd, the hospital began flushing its water system daily, providing bottled water to patients and staff, and did not allow showers until special filters were installed in them after receiving test results indicating an elevated level of the bacteria responsible for Legionnaire’s Disease in its water.
According to The Citizen, the filters will be removed and, beginning Monday, bottled water will no longer be required as further testing has provided favorable results.
