SHARE NOW

The Auburn High School auditorium was packed Wednesday evening as roughly 300 students from the school’s band, choir, and orchestra shared the stage to perform rock standards such as “Purple Haze”, “Crazy Train”, and “Any Way You Want It.”

This concert was the culmination of the Electrify Your Symphony Program.

Orchestra and band students trained with Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s original string master and head of the program Mark Wood while choir students received vocal lessons from Laura Kaye, who has worked with such artists as James Brown, Aretha Franklin, and Sean Lennon. Students also received choreography instruction from professional dancer Nathan Blake

Students said they enjoyed the experience and many feel inspired to continue learning music and the arts in general. Lily Panek, a sophomore, who dances outside of school said “[they] said you should just keep going for it and I thought that was a good idea.”

The Electrify Your Symphony Program was created by Wood  to help students reach their full musical potential.
