The Auburn Downtown Partnership (ADP), the organization that runs the Business Improvement District (BID), has launched a new initiative to promote businesses within the BID.
Executive Director Jesse Kline told FLX Local Media that the Destination Downtown Auburn initiative will provide a “unified approach working directly with the business to create a marketing campaign that makes downtown Auburn a destination for fun, for shopping, for eating, for playing, for staying, everything you need.” The ADP hopes that, by having the businesses work together, it can market downtown as a whole.
As part of the initiative, the ADP has rolled out a new logo to be featured on marketing materials and stickers, and has hired a consultant to craft social media strategies to promote local businesses.
Kline added that Destination Downtown Auburn will have an initial primary focus on retail establishments as they are “the industry that we want to bump up, give attention to, and assist [in] being successful.” The primary goals of the initiative, according to Kline, are to increase foot traffic and sales and to bring attention to businesses that may not be on people’s radars.
“That’s why we’re doing these feature videos and posting on social media. [It’s] kind of an inside look at some of these businesses… [businesses] people are curious about but may have not experienced firsthand.”
Business owners with questions about the initiative are encouraged to contact Kline at [email protected].
