The future of one Auburn daycare center is uncertain.
Cayuga Community College’s Childcare Center in Auburn is having its license to operate reviewed following an October inspection by the state’s Office of Children and Family Services noted a variety of violations.
The office has the facility’s status listed as “pending revocation.” The office states that “enforcement action will remain pending until a final decision has been rendered by an administrative law judge or by a court, or until the enforcement action has been resolved.” While pending, the program may continue to operate.
Additionally, the program’s director, Colette Teneyck of Seneca Falls, faces three felony charges after multiple investigations into theft complaints from the Seneca Falls Walmart.
Teneyck is accused of stealing merchandise as well as scanning less expensive items in place of more expensive ones.
She was also charged with three counts of misdemeanor petit larceny.
The center has the capacity to serve 132 children.
