The City of Auburn is moving forward with the planned expansion of its court system at downtown’s Historic Post Office building.
City Clerk Chuck Mason says TRW Architecture and Preservation LLP of Albany has been chosen by the council to redesign the space.
“They will be doing the work over the next year to design the space,” Mason said on FLX Morning. “Then, we will enter into some agreements with Cayuga County for the long-term about funding the actual buildout of that space and entering into a long-term lease for that.”
The building itself is owned by Cayuga County.
Plans for the redesign include a second courtroom and security enhancements.
