The City of Auburn has announced its two spring cleaning days for 2025.

City residents will be able to drop off garbage, yard waste, electronics, and other unwanted items at the city transfer station at no cost to them. The spring cleaning days will be held on April 19 and May 3 from 7:00-11:30a.

The event is open to city residents only. A driver’s license and vehicle registration will be required ad must match to be allowed entry. All loads must be tarped, and box vans and u-hauls will be turned away.

Below is a list of what items will and won’t be accepted.

Materials That Will Be Accepted At NO COST To City Residents:

  • GARBAGE, RECYCLING, MATTRESS/BOX SPRING, BRUSH/YARD WASTE, and FURNITURE.
  • Yard waste/brush must be dumped out of plastic bag (plastic bags are no longer acceptable for this material).
  • Computer Parts, Microwaves, DVDs, VCRs, Printers, TVs, Cell Phones, Mobile Devices, Fluorescent Lamps
  • Car tires (accepting 4 tires per residence).

Materials That Will Be Accepted AT COST To City Residents:

  • FREON CONTAINING UNITS  $45.00 EACH (Refrigerators, Air Conditioners, Dehumidifiers).

Materials That WILL NOT Be Accepted:

  • HAZARDOUS WASTE;
  • ASBESTOS;
  • MOTOR OIL;
  • LIQUID WASTE;
  • GREASE;
  • SOLVENTS;
  • PAINT:
  • COOKING OIL.
