The nation is in the midst of a Listeria outbreak. According to the Cayuga County Health Department, 12 cases have been confirmed in New York State as of Friday, including one in Cayuga County.
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has issued a substantial recall that included all Boar’s Head Provisions Co. liverwurst products produced between June 11 and July 17 due to potential contamination. Various types and package sizes of ham, salami, bacon, and bologna produced on June 27 have also been recalled as they were produced on the same line as the liverwurst.

Anyone who purchased any of the aforementioned products is urged not to consume them and retailers should not sell them. Products should be thrown out or returned to the place of purchase.
