A group of Wells College alumni made a bid this week to buy and resurrect the shuttered liberal arts school on the shore of Cayuga Lake.
The group, which calls itself the Cleveland Commission for Wells, said it submitted a bid last week to buy the college’s 127-acre campus, along with its name and trademarks. The alumni group wants to reopen the college in Aurora.
The college closed in June after 156 years. The alumni group is one of three bidders for the college. On it’s website they are seeking pledges or donation which would be tax deductible.
