University of Rochester Medicine Finger Lakes Health Rehabilitation Services will offer its free Community Mobility Screening Program for adults 65 and older on Thursday, May 21, in Penn Yan and Geneva.
The program checks balance, strength, and fall risk to help participants maintain independence. Screenings will take place at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, located at 418 North Main Street in Penn Yan, and at the Garnsey Outpatient Rehabilitation Center at Geneva General Hospital, located at 196 North Street in Geneva.
Participants will complete evidence-based tests designed to predict fall risk and identify potential strength deficits and balance concerns compared to others in their age group. Finger Lakes Health Rehabilitation Services aims to help older adults remain independent while living safely in their communities.
The free screening takes approximately 30 minutes and is offered on the third Thursday of each month at both rehabilitation locations.
Space is limited, and registration at least one week in advance is requested. To schedule a screening, call 315-787-4570 for Geneva or 315-531-2577 for Penn Yan. More information is available at flhealth.org.
