The Ontario County District Attorney’s Office has expanded its prosecution staff with the addition of four new attorneys, District Attorney Jason MacBride announced.
The new hires — Paul Irving, Nicholas Line, Patrick Russi, and Kelly Pettrone — bring decades of combined experience in prosecution, courtroom litigation, judicial service, and legal instruction. Officials said the additions will strengthen the office’s ability to handle felony, misdemeanor, and specialized cases across all courts.
Paul Irving joins the office with more than 30 years of prosecutorial experience. He previously served with the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office and the Monroe County Law Department, where he handled complex felony prosecutions and supervised specialized units, including the Gun Bureau and Arson Bureau. His background also includes juvenile justice matters and training prosecutors and investigators.
Nicholas Line comes from the Chemung County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted felony and misdemeanor cases, conducted grand jury presentations, tried jury cases, and participated in appellate advocacy. He has also served as an instructor at the Southern Tier Law Enforcement Academy, teaching criminal law to police cadets.
Patrick Russi brings experience from several roles within the criminal justice system. He previously worked as an assistant district attorney in Monroe County and later served as a town justice in the Town of Irondequoit for more than a decade. He has also taught criminal justice and criminal procedure as an adjunct professor at Monroe Community College and Roberts Wesleyan College.
Kelly Pettrone joins the office after serving as a felony prosecutor in the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office. Her experience includes prosecuting serious vehicular crimes, felony gun and drug cases, and working in the Special Investigations Bureau. She has conducted numerous jury trials and handled complex motion practice in major cases.
District Attorney MacBride said the new hires will help the office manage a demanding caseload and continue providing strong service to Ontario County residents.
