The Southern Cayuga Central School District (SCCSD) will host the New York State District 7 Future Farmers of America (FFA) Leadership Development Events Competition next month, the district announced.
Last May, SCCSD student Audrey Larsen was elected as the 2025-26 FFA President for District 7. The SCCSD added that the president’s home school traditionally hosts the event, meaning that, for the first time in eight years, Southern Cayuga will host the competition.
The competition is scheduled for Saturday, February 7. In the event of inclement weather, February 14 has been selected as a snow date.
FFA District 7 primary covers Central New York, including Schools and BOCES in Cayuga, Onondaga, and Tompkins County, the school district said, adding that it anticipates up to 350 students participating in the competition, which serves as the first step in a series of competitions, with individuals and teams moving on to Sub-States, States, and Nationals.
The district is seeking judges and additional volunteers to assist with the competition. Judging and volunteer information can be found here. Application information can be found here.
