Investigators with the Finger Lakes Drug Task Force have charged an Auburn man following an alleged drug investigation.
Authorities say Burrell Wingate was under investigation for illegal possession, sales, and distribution of drugs. On Friday, task force officers executed a search warrant at Wingate’s home and vehicle, where they reportedly found cocaine, a digital scale, and cash.
Wingate was charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and was released following his arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
