A man was injured in Wayne County after he was struck by a vehicle that also hit a building in the town of Ontario.
It happened just after 1 p.m. last Thursday at Bill Gray’s on Route 104. The victim suffered lower-body injuries and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. There has been no update on his condition.
Authorities say the incident involved a dark-colored Ford pickup truck that drove around the side of the building before leaving the scene. The driver, 45-year-old Jessie Adams, with no permanent address, was later located in Webster and taken into custody without incident.
Adams has been issued traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in Town of Ontario Court.
The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
Emergency responders at the scene included Wayne County EMS, Ontario Fire Department, and local law enforcement.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
